Classrooms of the Future
In the world of technology and social media classroom education is drastically changing. Online, or distance education classes are now offered not only in college and university education systems but also in many high school's. These classrooms are becoming more and more interactive including chats, quizzes and group work, formatted much like an online social media page or layout. Many Schools offer a website like WEB-CT which acts like a social media site centered towards online coarse work, or a virtual classroom. An example of this that our group is well acquainted with is Sheridan college slate.

I quiet agree with the interactive aspect of technology as an educational tool. In the future, online social media will increase the learning experience in class by allowing students and teachers to connect and interact in new, exciting ways. Many Web sites will be designed and provide further platforms where users can collaborate, discuss, exchange ideas, and find answers to questions. http://interactyx.com/social-learning-blog/pros-and-cons-of-social-media-in-education/
ReplyDeleteI agree with where education is headed for the future of classrooms. The layout completely follows the format of social media and this makes it so much easier for students to get involved in online classrooms. As students, we already spend a majority of our time on media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. The classrooms of the future are evolving more and more to include media that we find interesting and spend a majority of our time indulged in. Another way that Sheridan College uses forums to have students ineract is through Blackboard chat, it is much like MSN chat where we download the program and have the capability to chat with our friends while we are both online. The same applies to Blacboard chat. Take a look at this link that describes how biometrics may be involved in learning of the future. http://www.edutopia.org/blog/five-future-education-technologies-nick-grantham
