Impact of Globaization in Tertiary Education

Globalization and Students

The term “globalization” refers to the international system that  catalyze and shape the interaction and integration of cultures, politics, business and intellectual elements around world. Due to the developing knowledge and ability, an individual is expected to support an environment that attracts, sustains and retains creative, imaginative, and globally resourceful entities or else that individual will eventually fall behind. That is why the role of higher education as apparent in universities and colleges is to supply and nurture such individuals into the community. This had resulted in challenges such as the growing competition among universities and other entities, relentless pressures to innovate, new worldwide markets and production options, growing concerns over cultural and environmental degradation. To cope with the challenges, yet realities of globalization, institutions of higher education need to formulate unique ways to  connect their faculty, students and outside communities in a strategic infrastructure where ideas flow, new initiatives blossom, flexibility abounds and global reputations expand. On the other hand, it is exciting  for primarily students to witness one the most profound hallmark of the new millennium which is the ever-increasing interdependence of our world - Globalization. It is here to stay and only those that embrace it will benefit the most. Further benefits will soon be discussed, stay tuned. http://www.anienetwork.org/content/globalization-and-higher-education-eight-common-perceptions-university-leaders
